Seeing increasing number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the country, Modi government has declared to issue National Identity Card (NIC) through National Population Register (NPR).
NDA and the present government could give preference to National Population Register (NPR) over the Aadhaar project. A scheme to give cards to people under NPR could also be launched.
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme which was launched on January 1, 2013 has helped in transferring a huge sum of money till now. About Rs. 250 crore have been distributed through DBT scheme under various programmes in the first seven months of its beginning.
At such a time when people and the government of the country are busy in the newer concept of establishing identification, there are also some hindrances in validating this new scheme.
