7 Coaches and 3 captains are foreigners in IPL 2014

The seventh edition of Indian Premier League will witness 7 foreign coaches and 1 Indian coach. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar is the only Indian who will act as head coach of an IPL team. He is the head coach of Kings XI Punjab for IPL 7 otherwise all the other seven teams have foreign coaches. Those seven coaches include 3 from NZ and 2 each from Australia and SA. Talking about captaincy there will be 5 Indians who will be leading their teams while three foreigners will lead three IPL teams.

Dhoni retains highest earning cricketer spot

Indian team and CSK captain MS Dhoni has takeover Virat Kohli to become the most valuable cricketer in terms of earning through advertisement. Virat Kohli took over Dhoni as the highest earning cricketer few months back but now he has been replaced by Dhoni once again. According to English daily, there has been an increment of 60% in Dhoni’s brand value over the past four months. Till last year Dhoni was taking Rs. 8 crore for a deal but was beaten by Kohli who took Rs. 10 crore for a deal. Dhoni is promoting 21 brans at present including Aircel, Pepsi, Reebok, etc. whose profit revenue is shared with Dhoni.

IPL helps in playing longer international cricket: Ross Taylor

Delhi Daredevils player Ross Taylor said during training session to reporters, “New Zealand Cricket has done a fantastic job. We do not have such types of players which other countries have. This is good that our players come here and play in IPL. In the end, players get the chance to play longer for New Zealand by participating in the IPL”. Taylor has played for four teams in the last six season of Indian Premier League (IPL) viz. RCB, RR, DD, PWI. He has played 54 tests and 137 ODIs for NZ. He said, “Playing for three teams in three years was harmful”. He said that he would love to bat at number 4 or 5 position for Delhi.

Deepak Parekh appointed as Gavaskar’s special advisor for IPL 7

BCCI has appointed Deepak Parekh, HDFC Head as the special advisor of Sunil Gavaskar for IPL 7. Having a huge experience of finance, Parekh will assist Gavaskar in operation of IPL 2014. This information was shared by BCCI through a press release. After Supreme Court’s order of dismissing Srinivasan from BCCI, Gavaskar was appointed as the interim chief of BCCI till IPL 7. Gavaskar showed his happiness that Parekh has accepted his proposal.
