List of 78 districts for DBT scheme implementation

The Government has decided to extend the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme in 78 more districts and has announced the probable date of 1st July 2013 for its implementation. The second phase of the scheme will also cover districts from seven such states which were not the part of the first phase implementation which began from January 1, 2013 in 20 districts and so far have been extended in 43 districts of various states and Union Territories. This time the implementation will cover six districts each from Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, three each from Bihar and Tamil Nadu, two from West Bengal and 4 each from Odisha and Gujarat. These are those districts which were not the part of the first phase of this scheme. Apart from these 28 districts, 50 remaining districts are from those states which have been already a part of Aadhaar based DBT.
