Upgraded version machine simplifies Aadhar card enrollment

Central and State governments have started implementing Aadhar card for use in various schemes and services. There are many such people whose fingerprints have been affected by their sheer labour and hard work which causes in their inability in proper Aadhaar enrollment. As a result, they are denied of various schemes for which Aadhar card is a must. But now, there is a relief for all such people. They can now refill their form and can obtain Aadhar card.

UIDAI has brought the upgraded version of fingerprint scanning machine which can recognize as low as 10% of fingerprints. Till now machine could recognize as low as marks of 50% of fingerprints. On the other hand there are still problems being faced in the Aadhar card enrollment of children below the age of 5 years. Even the upgraded version of the machine cannot process the scanning of children’s fingerprints.

UPA government formed UIDAI in January 2009 and it began its work from February 2009. According to UIDAI, 60 crore Aadhar cards were issued to people till December 2014. Central government set the target of making Aadhar card of 100 crore people in 2014-15. Even after instructions from Supreme Court, State and Central government have made Aadhar card mandatory for various schemes. Even voter ID card is being linked up with Aadhar card. Since, Aadhar card has become so vital for the public, the upgraded version of the machine has been brought up.

A senior official said that labour category, maid, brick work labour and senior citizen people face difficulty in fingerprint scanning during Aadhar card enrollment. Now with the upgraded version machines, fingerprint scanning can be easily processed.
