Mainpuri (UP): People having savings account in post offices are unable to avail government schemes benefits. Not even 15% out of 35000 post office accounts in the city have been linked up with Aadhar card. Account holder are unavailable to get scheme benefits because of employee’s negligence to link Aadhar card with their account. There are more than 2.22 lakh accounts in about 22 post offices including the main post office.
People are frustrated to keep visiting post offices for linking their Aadhar card number with their account. Employees averts customer saying failure in system. Due to this, customers can’t receive benefits under PM insurance scheme, DBTL scheme etc. People are saying that in order to avail benefits under different government schemes, they are compelled to open new account in bank.
MS Yadav, Post Master Main Post Office, attributed usual networking problem for this issue. He said that earlier BSNL service were available to the department. But now, SIFI is having the contract for setting up networking for our department. System failures now take time to be resolved due to which people have to suffer. Even customers are not taking interest in linking their Aadhar card. However, preference is given to those who come to post office to link their Aadhar card.
