Only 50% Aadhar card enrollment in Bhind

Bhind (MP): About 18 lakh Aadhar cards were to be made in the district but this work has not been completed in the last three years. Aadhar cards of about only 50% people have been made. The shocking fact is that the last date for Aadhar card enrollment was 31st December 2015 which has also passed. As a result, Bhind district is lagging behind at the last position in the state. However, District Collector (DC) has said that to increase its speed help of private people is being taken and numbers of machines are also being increased.

Aadhar card enrollment work began in the district in 2011-12 for which 50 machines were installed but the rate of enrollment was very slow. For some time the enrollment work was even upheld. This is the reason why Aadhar card of only 9 lakh people have been made so far in the district. Still, 9 lakh people are left for Aadhar card enrollment. Last two months have caught some speed however. DC has asked officials to show seriousness in this matter. Besides this, Aadhar card camps are also being setup at schools, colleges etc.

LPG consumers once again have been given a relief. They are now provided one month of final deadline period to link Aadhar card with gas account. There are still 30000 such consumers who are yet to complete the Aadhaar linking formalities. Officers are blaming lesser number of machines in the district for delay in Aadhar card enrollment. “Only 50 machines were given while the need was for 600 such machines in the district. Consistent problem of Internet server down was also a reason for this”, said an official.
