The fraud on Aadhar card in Basi village of Hoshiarpur in Punjab has been exposed. Seeing a team from a daily newspaper thug man ran away. People said that in lieu of making Aadhar card, he was collecting Rs. 250 for one and Rs. 500 for two persons. DC Tanu Kashyap has ordered investigation in this serious matter. On receiving this information a team of Dainik Jagran reached the village where one man was charging money for making Aadhar card from the people. People objecting were bullied by that man. On facing the team man promised for not taking money while people were saying that they were charged and that work was underway since morning. A person said that when his wife and two children went for enrollment then they were asked Rs. 250 each for a child. People from other states were charged high fees. When Kamlesh Kumar and his wife from Allahabad reached there for enrollment then they were charged Rs. 500 for two enrollments.
When team asked why people were being charged then he said that because voter card of other states people do not work here. When they were asked about the authority who allowed them to sit there then they told name of a village Panch. After a while he left away from his chair. Late in the evening when food inspector Kuljeet Singh reached there then he told that those people were not permitted by the department. Panchayats have been given rights in this regard. The subject of investigation is that why money was charged for Aadhar card enrollment while it is provided free of cost by the government. DC told that this matter has come into her notice. Money cannot be taken for making Aadhar card and investigation has been handed over to district food and supply Officer Rajneesh Kumari. Action will be taken against culprit persons.
