The state government has introduced Aadhar card based Online E-Locker facility to securely store certificates, degree and other vital documents needed in job and other types of application process. The scheme has been given the name as ‘Maha Digital Locker’ which aims at removing the problem of carrying educational and property documents physically. With the arrival of new government at the centre, it was said that people will be provided with the facility of securely storing digital data provided like education, residential, medical record, birth certificate data etc. An official said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants people to carry copies of the certificates issued by the government to them.
Another official Virendra Singh said, “Our state has progressed a lot in e-governance and central government has also praised our revolutionary works in the field of IT. Central government has also praised our new scheme of e-locker facility”. Singh said that anyone who has Aadhar card can visit the website elocker.maharashtra.gov.in to take advantage of e-locker facility. Aadhaar number is necessary to open an account on this website. After login, user can upload scanned copies of important documents and can use them anytime. He added that after uploading birth, caste, marriage, income related document, user will not need to physically carry them for job or education purposes. Singh said that employers registered with us can directly ask for their candidates documents from us. This will be very secure and no other third person will be able to know any individual’s details.
Whenever someone applies for a document or certificate, then the concerned department will upload a copy of that. Everything will be controlled by a One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent to the user’s mobile number while logging in with Aadhar card number. The educational institutes or employer registered with this project will be given two types of passwords and unique link so that they can easily view documents of candidate applying for admission or job. The ‘Maha Digital Locker’ is currently under trial phase and its pilot project is underway in Wardha where Aadhaar enrollment has been completed by 100%. After completion of Aadhar card enrollment in the state, the project will be fully implemented in the state.
