Prisoners in jail of Bokaro district of Jharkhand will now also have their Aadhaar numbers. Photography of all the prisoners will be done and they will be provided with Aadhar card. This process will begin in the upcoming week. Photography of about 350 prisoners has already been done in Telughat jail while there are about 416 total prisoners. Jail superintendant will validate the signatures of the prisoners after which they will be enrolled serially in order of their prisoner number. The present address of them will be the jail where they have been kept. After release they can change that address if they desire. They can fill up mobile numbers of their family members in the enrollment form. The data of these prisoners captive in jail will also be used by the National Crime control Agency. This will prevent any criminal to change its identity.
The government has made Aadhaar mandatory in Delhi but has not defined time period for making it after enrollment. People have to bear consequences of this. Aadhar card has not reached home even to those who enrolled 8-10 months ago. People are therefore takings rounds of ADM office. The difficulty before people rises even when the bank officials demand for Aadhar card while opening up of bank account despite the presence of all the others valid required document proof. Similarly Aadhar card is also asked at other government department offices. Instead of finding solution, ADM suggested to wait more for the delivery of Aadhaar letters. He said that Aadhar cards come from Bangalore and delay is possible but any person can get the electronic copy of the Aadhaar letter from the website.
Om Software authorized by UIDAI began the Aadhaar enrollment process in Saharsa of Bihar. Big crowd of male and female gathered at the enrollment camp. Four computers are being used for the enrollment process. A company official said that the company has been asked to enroll 40 crore people for Aadhar card by end of March 2014.
All the BDOs in the Seraikela of Jharkhand have been given the responsibility to ensure Aadhar card enrollment of all the people in the district in 15 days. For this the regions where the present enrollment speed is slow, the concerned BDO are required to complete it with additional system setup. These instructions were given by ADC CK Singh during a meeting with BDO. He said that the funds of old-age pension and MNREGA scheme will be provided to the beneficiaries through Aadhaar linked bank account from 1st July for which it is essential that all the beneficiaries to have their Aadhaar numbers. He said that about 68% enrollment work has been completed in the district.
