Aadhar Card for everyone by March 31 in Delhi: CM

To provide government’s welfare services to every citizen of the state, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has ordered the top officials to provide Aadhar card to every individual by 31st March 2013. After attending a top official meeting regarding Aadhar card on Friday she directed all the top officials to provide Aadhar card to all the people in Delhi by the end of next month. She asked the officials to take it seriously so that the subsidy amount can be easily transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary.

Out of 1.68 crore population, 1.30 crore people in the state have enrolled for Aadhaar and 1.20 crore have been issued Aadhaar number. Sheila Dixit has asked the officials to cover up all the remaining people by 31st March. The meeting was attended by some department officials and few senior bank officials. She also asked the people to show interest in enrolling for Aadhar card because in the coming days Aadhar card will be mandatory for accessing every government scheme including marriage certificate, property registration, residential certificate etc.

  1. I along with my family members consisting 3 minors and 2 senior citizens had made three attempts to get enrolled for ‘Adhar’. Disorder & mismanagement prevails all over.

    It would have been great convenient, if UIDAI make provision for online appointment so the applicant fill up application form online and reaches for biometric entry on time without any hassle.
