Every student of Maharashtra will get his Aadhaar number by 2014. The Maharashtra government has decided to enrol all the students and teachers of the state for Aadhaar by the first quarter of 2014. The school education department expect proper assistance from various agencies so that the large enrolment process can be completed on time. By 2014, 2 crore students and 5.75 lakh teachers have to be enrolled under this scheme of providing Unique Identification Number (UID) to every single individual.
JS Saharia, additional chief secretary in-charge of school education, said that around 325 days are needed to finish the job on time. He added the time can be reduced to two hundred and fifty days only by providing more machines and facilities to the staff members. So, it is good to make a plan before executing the operation. He also asked various agencies to cooperate with each other to finish the job before it is too late.
The state education department wants all its administrative functioning to go on web for the sake of preventing fake and crooked activities. Aadhaar will help them to recognise everyone’s real identity. Saharia also said that such implementation will save huge time of everyone.
