Aadhaar enrollment to begin in Badaun, UP

The process of Aadhar card enrollment will begin in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. To register details of all the people in the National Population Register (NPR), camps will soon be setup at the Tehsil, Block and village level. The government has launched the scheme of direct benefit transfer into the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the beneficiary. The scheme has also been implemented in few states. Now the Aadhaar enrollment process is also going to be started in Badaun. According to the sources the tender work has also been completed for this. Some modern machines are also being brought. However the dates for camps have not been announced yet.

After a clash on Thursday evening at the Aadhar card enrollment centre of Communal Marriage Hall, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, the workers stopped the enrollment work. They said only after a proper security centre at the centre we will resume our work. It is told that the timings for Aadhaar enrollment are from 10 AM to 5 PM. Workers stopped the work at the scheduled time. The people standing in the queue said that they have been standing in the queue since a long time. Let us enroll for Aadhar card. A quarrel started regarding this issue between the workers and the villagers. Few women villagers also got injured during the clash. The supervisor said that the work is stopped at 5 O’clock. Some people from the queue asked to enroll all people standing in the queue which was not possible. The Aadhaar card employees have stopped the work of enrollment from 1st March and have said that they will not resume their work until the security is imposed at the centre.
