Aadhaar enrollment begins in Nangal, Punjab

The Aadhaar enrolment process has been started in the Nangal town of the Rupnagar district of Punjab. People of the town have been waiting for the start of Aadhaar enrollment in their town and after a long wait the enrollment process has begun in the town. The enrollment process has begun at the premises of ITI Nangal. Members of the ITI staff and students enrolled for Aadhaar. An official said that the enrollment process will be done till 7th April 2013. During this period only boys, girls and students of Shivalik College will be enrolled. The enrollment of the people of the town will be by setting up separate camps later on.

Government’s decision of declaring March 31 as the last date for enrollment, a chaos can be seen among the people of Bhogpur town of Jalandhar district in Punjab. People are reaching in large numbers at the enrollment centres which are causing commotion at the centres. A clash also took place at one of the enrollment camp in the town due to which the work was halted for some time. Some people also complained of charging fees for the enrollment form. Enrollment camp was also setup at the Valmiki Temple of the cant area. The inauguration of the camp was done by Rakesh Pandey, MLA of the Northern region. Local people thanked Rakesh for the inauguration of the Aadhaar enrollment camp.
