Aadhaar enrollment at Post Offices in Etah and Kasganj

If you are going to open an account in post office, then there is some good news for you. Along with account Postal department is going to begin Aadhar card enrollment facility. Preparations are also underway to run campaign to aware customers about Aadhar card. RPS Yadav, Superintendent Postal Board, Etah-Kasganj said that Aadhar card is being given privilege as identity proof from central government side but till now people are not seen interested in Aadhaar enrollment. Therefore, department will begin exercise for Aadhar card enrollment from a new end. He said that all the main post offices of Etah and Kasganj, assistants and post office branches have been directed to provide Aadhaar enrollment facility. He said that special instructions have been received from government end regarding Aadhar card enrollment. He added that those whose Aadhaar have already been made will provide Aadhaar number along with account at post office. Any nearest post office can be contact for Aadhar card enrollment purpose.

Government today cleared that for opening bank account under Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, Aadhar card would be accepted as a valid proof. Finance Ministry in a statement has said that Aadhar card would be valid and acceptable document proof for opening bank account under KYC norms. According to the statement, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has suggested banks to accept Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI as a valid legal document for opening a bank account. RBI has asked banks to accept Aadhaar card as a valid ID and address proof if address given by bank accountholder is same as the address on Aadhar card.

Government has set 31 October as the deadline date to complete Aadhaar card enrollment work in the state of Haryana. Proposal is to link Food Security Bill scheme with Aadhaar after completion of this work. Keshni Anand Arora, DDG, UIDAI gave this information during a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Gurgaon division at Gymnasium Club near Sector-29. She instructed all the DCs to bring pace in the work of Aadhar card enrollment. She said that the authority has made plan to enroll students at all the colleges and technical education institutes. She asked officials to look for such colonies where enrollment is very low or has not started. E-Aadhaar service and updating of information service can be accessed by paying a fee of Rs.10 and Rs.15 respectively. Shekhar Vidyarthi, DC, Gurgaon said that number of enrollments has reached up to 67% here while in Faridabad it is 70%.
