Similar to the present’s Aadhaar enrollment centre at different places, we will soon have special updating centre for changing or updating Aadhaar details in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Besides updating details, these centres will also be helpful for those who have not got their Aadhaar letters after enrollment. At present all these modification/updating work are done online and offline (through post). Date of birth will also be added on the card at these centres. The expected date for setting up of these centres is end of May.
As people are getting their Aadhaar letters, the number of complaints is also increasing. Incorrect or invalid address, wrong photo, misspelling in name and other similar problems are common on the received Aadhaar cards. To update their Aadhaar details people either completes the online process or send the correction form through post by filling it up after downloading it from the website. But those who are not aware about this procedure find themselves in trouble.
For updating details people have to bring the same documents at these centres which they used in support of their enrollment application while enrolling for Aadhaar. The Aadhaar number will remain the same and only the details will be updated. The updated Aadhar card will be received after few days.
Recently, the Planning Commission in a reply to a RTI informed that the newer version of Aadhar card will consist of full date of birth of its holder and not only just the year of birth. Despite any official confirmation it has also come into notice that the date of birth of the Aadhar card holder will also be added at these especially setup centres. For this the card holder has to present a valid document proof in support of his/her date of birth verification.
A representative from an enrolling agency said that we have got the permission for setting up of these special correction centres but the date for initiating this is still to be received from Delhi. The probable date for starting up of these centres is from the next month of May.
