Aadhaar – The Story so far

The Unique Identification Authority of India has issued 22.48 crore Aadhaars so far and is busy in continuing in the process of giving every individual his/her unique Aadhaar number. Andhra Pradesh like from the very beginning continue to top the list with the most number of Aadhaars issued with the count of more than 4.8 crore followed by Maharshtra with more than 4.05 crore Aadhaar numbers. Karnataka at number three lies much behind Maharshtra with around 1.60 crore Aadhaar numbers which is close to the fourth position Kerala with almost 1.5 crore Aadhaar number. The next in the list follows Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh with about 1.30 crore, 1.20 crore, 1.07 crore and 98 lac issued Aadhaar numbers.

Talking about the enrolments percentage by age and gender, people with the age group of 16 to 30 years tops the list with 30.59% of enrolments covering 16.28% male, 14.30% female and 0.003% transgender of the total enrolment. These stats clearly shows the participation of the youth in such a useful scheme from the government. Next are the persons with the age group of 31 to 45 years with 25.06% of total enrolments covering 12.54% male, 12.51% female and 0.003% transgender people of this country.
